Getting in the Zone - tips on how to relax for your boudoir session

Updated: May 9, 2021

As you prepare for your boudoir session we hope you are excited, you may be nervous or a little of both. That is normal; here are a few tips to help you relax during your boudoir experience.

  1. Play music - if you have a favorite play list fee free to bring it to the session. It helps set the mood, calm you and make you feel comfortable. Don't worry if you forget, tell us your favorite music genre and we'll have it covered.

  2. Pamper yourself and immerse in the experience - consider having your hair and make-up done at the studio - this is a great time to relax prior to the session and really get pampered! We get to discuss your and our vision for the session and relax in the enviroment before we start.

  3. Deep breathing - Practicing deep breathing is a proven method of relaxation. Take those deep breathes in and out through your nose filing your belly with air each time. Repeat until you feel better. We want you to be relax and enjoy the experience. Once we get started you'll realise it is fun and there is nothing to be nervous about.

  4. Be prepared - we are usually nervous with the unknown. Make sure you ask any outstanding questions you have. We will have a consultation/preperation session prior to the shoot, so this is a great time to ask. No question is off-limits. After that we hope you are more at ease and are ready for the fun!

  5. Laugh it off - If you are feeling silly in front of the camera, laugh at yourself. Laughter is a great relaxation technique. It will help you loosen up.
